our customers also ask us ...

Do I need a passport to rent a scooter in Chiang Mai?
Thai law generally prohibits businesses from holding a foreign passport as collateral. We do not ask for your passport.

How do I rent a scooter?
You can contact us by phone at 0653480108 or by WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, or Line.

Can I take the bike to other provinces? Can I ride the Mae Hong Son Loop or ride to Chiang Rai?
We ask that all of our scooters stay within the Chiang Mai area so we can quickly help customers if any problems happen. In general, bikes should stay within about 30km of the city. This still gives you plenty of freedom to enjoy rides like the Samoeng Loop and explore Hang Dong and the surrounding areas, but longer trips such as the Mae Hong Son Loop are not allowed.

What happens if I scratch or damage the bike?
We don't worry about the small stuff. Scratches are part of riding in Chiang Mai and will inevitably happen. All of our bikes come with free scratch insurance. We've picked up scratches and nicks from just riding around the streets ourselves so we understand they are just part of riding in a city.

Should I rent a scooter in Chiang Mai?
Chiang Mai is an amazing city, but one thing it really lacks is public transportation. There are no trains, trams, or buses at all. Because of that, riding a scooter is both the cheapest and quickest way to get around. It's also way more convenient than driving a car or waiting for a taxi. Honestly, we can't count how many times we've sat in traffic jams on Nimman Road or inside the Old City and wished we were on a scooter instead of trapped in a car. Plus, scooting around Chiang Mai is genuinely fun. Without a doubt, we'd choose a scooter over a car here any day. Read more about why renting a scooter is essential in Chiang Mai.

What is the best scooter to rent in Chiang Mai?
We've been riding around Chiang Mai for decades on all kinds of scooters and motorcycles, and in our experience, the best scooter to rent is the Honda Click 160cc. It offers more power than the standard 110cc or 125cc models, yet it stays small and agile. This makes it perfect for weaving through the frustrating traffic on the Hang Dong road and getting past all the congestion in the old city. At the same time, it handles beautifully on a trip up to Mon Jam in Samoeng.

Do I need a driving license to ride in Chiang Mai?
Yes, legally, to ride and drive in Thailand you are required to have valid International Driving Permit (IDP) or a Thai Driving License. However, the question your are probably more interested in asking is 'What happens If I don't have one?'. Riding a scooter here without a valid license is incredibly common, especially in tourist areas.
