A huge music festival with an impressive line-up of some of Thailand's biggest bands and groups, such as Bodyslam, Pixxie, Slot Machine etc.

Music is the main event but there will be LOTS of street food and market stalls. Well worth riding to!

The park is part of the local government grounds, just off the canal road. You can either head up the Mae Rim road and swing a left into the government premises or go via the Canal Road.

There is usually parking outside the event along the tree-lined roads. So, jump on your rental scooter and go check it out. You won't be disappointed.

OH, AND IT IS FREE!

The Northern Scooter Show

Jump on your scooter and head on over to the Central Airport Plaza to check out all the amazing scooters on show! The largest scooter gathering in Thailand!

There will be hundreds of custom scooters and rare classics on show.

They even plan to have a scooter dyno test engine power competition!

The Central Airport Place is at the intersecton of Hang Dong Road and Mahidol Road, only a few minutes by scooter from the old town.

2026 doi suthep night run marathon

This year the annual night run event will have runners climbing up to the top of Doi Suthep. If you are a runner (or just want to walk it) sign up and give it a shot.

There will be drink stations scattered on the way and no doubt there will be lots of entertainment to go with it.

The run is about 12km but is all uphill so be prepared for a hard run!

You can park your scooter at the bottom of the mountain on Hua Kaew Road (near the Night Safari or at CMU).

The Inthakin Flower Festival is one of the most beautiful and spiritual events in Chiang Mai. This celebration honors the city pillar, a sacred monument believed to protect the city and bring prosperity to its people.

Throughout the week, you will see thousands of locals gathering at Wat Chedi Luang to offer colorful flowers, light incense sticks, and place candles around the temple grounds.

A major highlight of the event is the presence of the Phra Chao Fon Saen Ha, a sacred golden Buddha image. Visitors and locals alike join in the tradition of pouring scented water over the image as a way to pray for abundant rain and good fortune.

If you plan to experience this amazing cultural event, it is important to do so respectfully. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing that covers your shoulders and knees, such as long trousers or skirts. Please also keep in mind that while the courtyard festivities are open to everyone, ancient tradition prohibits women from entering the specific building that houses the city pillar itself.

Wat Chedi Luang is located in the heart of the old city where traffic often comes to a standstill during the festival. To save time and avoid getting stuck in a car, it is much better to jump on your scooter and park a short distance away before walking into the temple grounds. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and this unique look into Northern Thai culture!
